The RevZilla channel just dropped a hands on look at Insta360’s new X6 motorcycle camera bundle, and host Pat seems genuinely into it. He calls it maybe his favorite 360 camera the brand has put out, mostly thanks to a noticeably smaller body compared to older versions while somehow packing in better footage quality.
Price sits at $860, putting it on the pricier end of the lineup, but Pat points to upgrades like a bigger sensor, improved audio, a built in AI editor, and a stronger battery as reasons the jump makes sense. He also compares it side by side with the older X4, noting the X6 dropped to about 10 cm, under 4 inches, though it did get slightly thicker and wider. That shorter height actually helps stability, he says, since he mounted it on a Ninja 500 during a track day and it stayed locked in place thanks to better weight balance.
The bundle includes a handlebar clamp, a protective sleeve, two suction mounts, and standard mounting hardware. Pat’s one real complaint is that the bubble style lens guards, which protect against scratches, aren’t included in the box. He says RevZilla buys them in bulk separately and swaps them often since any scratch gets amplified once footage is stretched into 360 format.
Overall he frames it as a strong option for riders wanting simple, reliable capture without needing to frame every shot manually.
My two cents…
Smaller body, better footage, somehow. $860 though, so brace your wallet. Bigger sensor, better audio, AI editing, tougher battery. Dropped from the X4’s size, slightly chunkier otherwise, more stable on his Ninja 500. Bundle’s solid; lens guards sold separately, annoyingly.
