Sena Launches Vortex Two-Way Rider Intercom

SENA has launched the Vortex, a new Bluetooth intercom built for riders who travel with a pillion passenger or one partner. The focus is simple two way communication.

A dedicated Quick Pair button links two units with one press. No long holds. No complex steps. Once paired, riders can talk instantly. Range reaches up to 1.2 km between two motorcycles.

The unit uses five large buttons spaced for gloved hands. Riders keep their eyes on the road while adjusting volume or radio. The 720 mAh battery delivers up to 27 hours of talk time. A 20 minute charge gives around 2 hours 30 minutes of use. It also supports Qi wireless charging via a magnetic mount.

Vortex measures 18 mm thick and weighs 37 g. It sits close to the helmet shell. Three faceplates let users choose silver, matt black or white.

Second generation 40 mm HD speakers and Advanced Noise Control reduce wind noise and improve voice clarity.

Priced at £139 including VAT for a single pack and £269 for a dual pack, Vortex is rated IPX7 and backed by SENA Limited Lifetime Warranty. It is available now.

My two cents…

SENA has unveiled the Vortex, a Bluetooth intercom for riders who travel with one trusted human on the back. That is it. Simple, two way chat. No conference call circus. Revolutionary? No. Sensible? Absolutely.
