Hiplok has secured US listings with RevZilla, Cycle Gear, and J and P Cycles. The move puts its motorcycle security range in front of mainstream American riders for the first time.
The British brand launched in 2009 after co founder John Abrahams had his bicycle stolen. He and Ben Smith created the Original wearable chain lock, released in 2011. Riders wore it like a belt. The idea gained traction and carried the company into international markets.
Hiplok entered the motorcycle segment in 2021 with the D1000. The company said it was the first D lock built to resist angle grinder attacks. Theft gangs had used grinders to cut through hardened steel locks. The D1000 uses a graphene composite and earned a Diamond rating from Sold Secure in the UK.
The current lineup includes the AX1000 anchor at 500 dollars, the D1000 at 330 dollars, the Mega Chain at 230 dollars, the MD1000 disc lock at 200 dollars, and the Z Lok tie at 30 dollars.
After showing at AIMExpo 2025, Hiplok closed a deal with Comoto. The group runs the largest specialty motorcycle retail network in the United States, online and in stores.
My two cents…
Hiplok just landed US listings with RevZilla, Cycle Gear, and J and P Cycles, which means mainstream American riders are about to meet a very stubborn piece of British security. About time. The brand started in 2009 after co founder John Abrahams had his bicycle pinched. Classic villain origin story. With Ben Smith, he launched a wearable chain lock in 2011 that riders could sling on like a belt. Fashion statement? Debatable. Practical? Apparently yes. It pushed them into global markets. They hit motorcycles in 2021 with the D1000, built to resist angle grinders. Yes, those lovely tools theft gangs adore. Graphene composite, Diamond rating, price tags up to 500 dollars. Security is not cheap. Neither is replacing your bike. Your move.
