Louis Moto has teamed up with ABUS to release two Louis Edition security products for UK riders. Both are available now through the Louis Moto website.
The ABUS 8077 2.0 Detecto XPLUS Louis Edition costs £173.14. It is a compact disc lock rated Sold Secure Gold. It uses a 13mm hardened steel bolt and an XPLUS cylinder to protect against picking. The lock includes a 3D motion sensor that triggers a 100dB alarm if the bike is moved. LED and audio signals show the lock’s status and battery level. At 835 grams, it fits easily in a small luggage compartment. It also detects when attached to a brake disc to prevent false alarms. The lock ships with two keys, AAA batteries, and a carry case.
The ABUS TravelGuard Cable Tie Lock Louis Edition costs £25.97. It features a 4mm steel cable and a four-digit combination system with 1,000 code options. At 106 grams, it suits helmets and luggage storage on the go. The outer coating resists weather and scratches.
My two cents…
ABUS make some nice kit. Not sure how effective these alarm locks are, but a 100dB alarm is going to get someones attentions, that is for sure.
