Wunderlich is already building out protection gear for the new BMW F450 GS, and dual sport riders will want to pay attention. First up are engine crash bars, expected in the US market late 2026. They’re built from 25mm tubing with a 22mm crossbar, bolted to existing mounting points on each side. Wunderlich says they guard the engine, water pump, clutch and alternator without cutting into ground clearance or lean angle. Price runs $412.95.
There’s also a tank area crash bar set, priced at $495.95, using the same steel tubing and designed to spread out impact forces. Wunderlich made sure these pair up properly with the engine bars, so riders won’t run into fitment headaches mixing components.
Rounding things out is a new skid plate, powder coated aluminum, priced at $381.95. All three pieces are slated for late 2026 availability in the US.
Wunderlich has more in the pipeline too, including handguards and a radiator guard built specifically for the F450 GS. For anyone planning to put real miles on this bike off road, having this kind of gear ready early is a solid sign for the platform’s future.
My two cents…
Wunderlich's already suiting up the BMW F450 GS like it's heading into battle, not Sunday brunch. Engine crash bars ($412.95), tank bars ($495.95), skid plate ($381.95), all landing late 2026, all playing nice together. Handguards and radiator guards coming too. Translation? This bike's actually built to get dirty.
