Shoei has stepped into new territory with the launch of the X-Core hardside rollie case. The company, known for motorcycle helmets, created a suitcase with a glass-fiber reinforced plastic shell designed to withstand heavy impact. Shoei even tested the case against bullets and with a 3-kilogram striker used in helmet testing.
The X-Core stands 53 centimeters tall, 37 centimeters wide, and 24 centimeters deep. That total of 114 centimeters meets most airlines’ carry-on size limits. The case includes aluminum corner guards, a metal logo plate, and a telescoping handle built for strength and lightness.
Shoei fitted the case with Hinomoto Miraclent casters, known for quiet operation and smooth rolling. Travel Sentry combination locks add common security features seen across modern luggage.
The X-Core will debut on Makuake, Japan’s crowdfunding site, starting January 10, 2026. The campaign runs through February 27, 2026, with limited quantities available. Pricing has not yet been announced.
Shoei’s move signals possible diversification beyond helmets toward premium travel products. With travel demand high, the X-Core could mark a small but strategic expansion into lifestyle gear for a wider global audience.
My two cents…
I’m a bit of a Shoei lover, so this is an interesting move.
Overkill for your socks, but nice to know your toothpaste will survive Armageddon.
Not sure your wallet will survive, lets wait and see.
