Sena Technologies expands its helmet lineup with the new Sena Specter, a modular smart helmet built with fully integrated communications. This model marks another step in the industry’s move away from bolt-on Bluetooth units toward built-in systems.
The Specter includes navigation prompts, phone and intercom functions, and music playback. It uses second-generation Harman Kardon speakers and AI-based noise control on the microphone. Sena says the system keeps clear audio whether the chin bar is open or closed. The helmet offers up to 35 hours of battery life, with a 20-minute charge adding about seven hours of use. A Safe Power mode lets the helmet draw from an external source to protect the battery.
A rear light with brake detection improves visibility in traffic. The shell uses fiberglass and Kevlar with a multi-density EPS liner. A retractable sun visor and Pinlock 120XLT insert come standard. The helmet meets ECE 22.06 certification and features dual P/J homologation.
The Sena Specter arrives in dealerships in early March, priced at €619, about £540. It comes in Matte Black or Gloss White and sizes from S to XXL. The model weighs around 1,700 grams and includes Bluetooth 5.3, Mesh Intercom 3.0, and up to 2 km range in open terrain.
My two cents…
Everyone is getting on the AI bandwagon and I think it’s great! 🙂
Anything to improve in-helmet speaker audio get’s a big thumbs up from me, because in my experience, it’s often rubbish compared to earbuds.
