Poweroo Dual USB Charger For BMW Motorcycles

Poweroo Dual Usb Charger Upgrade For Bmw Motorcycles

The Poweroo dual USB charger replaces the DIN socket on BMW motorcycles and offers up to 3A output from USB-A and USB-C ports. John Milbank fitted it to Roger Carlisle’s R1250GS. Roger has been using it to charge his phone while running navigation apps on long rides.

Installation is simple. The charger fits in place of the existing DIN socket and only needs the 3D-printed spanner included in the box. The CANbus system shuts power off when the bike is off, preventing battery drain.

The Poweroo supports most fast-charging protocols, including PD 3.0 and QC4+. During testing, it delivered 3.48A through the USB-C port and 1.44A through the USB-A port on a Pixel 7 Pro. Both ports are water resistant and include silicone covers that keep moisture out during bad weather.

Some cables may not seat perfectly, but switching to another usually fixes it. Cheaper copies exist, but the Poweroo includes warranty and local support from Nippy Normans.

At £39.90, it’s a strong upgrade for BMW riders who use phones or GPS units. It charges fast, installs easily, and integrates neatly into the bike. Roger and John both rate it highly for function and reliability.

My two cents…

If your BMW’s DIN socket feels about as modern as a floppy disk, the Poweroo USB charger is your rescue plan. It swaps straight in, no rewiring, no drama, and suddenly your R1250GS can juice up a phone, sat nav, or whatever other gadget you swear you’re not addicted to. Fit and forget. The CANbus cuts the power when the bike’s off, so your battery’s safe. Dual ports, USB-A and USB-C, punch out proper fast-charging speeds, even in soggy British weather. Yeah, knockoffs are cheaper, but Poweroo’s the real deal: tidy install, local support, and warranty. Function beats faff, remember that, kids.
