Outback Motortek released installation details for its BMW R 12 G/S pannier racks. The kit comes in two versions. The standard model offers a simple setup. The X-Frame model adds external brackets and an X-shaped mount for Rotopax fuel canisters.
Installation starts by unboxing and checking all components. Users mount the main frame to the motorcycle’s rear subframe using the factory bolts. The next step is aligning the rack arms with the frame’s mounting points. Tighten all bolts evenly to ensure balance.
For the X-Frame, fit the external brackets before securing the X-shaped plate. The plate connects with four bolts. Outback Motortek recommends checking bolt torque after a short ride.
The racks are made of steel tubing for high load capacity. Each side supports panniers or fuel containers. Riders can attach soft or aluminum luggage.
Total installation time averages between 30 to 45 minutes with basic tools. The design keeps the weight close to the bike’s center. This helps maintain handling and stability during long rides.
