Outback Motortek just dropped a full installation walkthrough for its Rackless Luggage Support, built for riders running the 2026 and up Ducati DesertX V2.
The side support is meant for folks skipping a full pannier frame. It keeps soft bags steady, stopping them from bouncing around, folding under the seat, or rubbing against the rear wheel and exhaust during a ride.
The guide recommends fitting each side on its own rather than rushing both at once. Riders already running the Rear Rack Combo should know some hardware from that kit gets reused here, so keep the RRC parts handy before starting.
Blue threadlocker is a must on all mounting bolts. Outback Motortek also suggests taking a short ride after installation and rechecking bag clearance afterward, since strap tension tends to shift once the load settles in.
My two cents…
Think soft bag babysitter, no pannier frame required, keeping gear from face planting into your exhaust. Install sides separately, reuse RRC hardware, blue threadlock everything. Ride, recheck clearance. Classic “measure twice” energy.
