Hitachi Astemo might not be a household name, but their latest innovation is turning heads.
Partnering with Showa and Nissin, the brand introduced a groundbreaking integrated front fork and brake caliper system at EICMA last year.
Unlike traditional radial-mounted calipers, this one-piece design boosts rigidity, improves cooling efficiency by 5%, and trims 200 grams off the weight.
The heat dissipation and sturdiness sound great, but questions linger about the ease of servicing and pad replacement.
It’s a bold move in motorcycle engineering, time will tell if it’s a game-changer.
My two cents…
This is a bit different. Nice to see this type of innovation. Looks very cool!
