Garmin has released the new Zumo XT3 motorcycle sat nav. It follows the Zumo XT2 with more features aimed at touring and performance riders.
The XT3 comes in two versions. A 4.7-inch screen for compact bikes and a 6-inch model for larger setups. Both have high-brightness displays and are designed to handle rain, heat, and vibration. The units meet military drop tests and are rated IPX7 for water resistance.
It records performance data like 0–60 mph times, 1/8-mile and 1/4-mile runs, and lap timing through the Garmin Performance Package subscription. The device also logs lean angle, G-force, and max speed using sensors. Riders can share and compare data via the Garmin Tread app.
Standard mapping includes preloaded street and topographic maps with satellite imagery. Optional Outdoor Maps+ adds premium trail data and off-road routing. Other functions include visual route planning, group tracking, and free ride navigation using compass direction and distance.
The Garmin Zumo XT3 is available now from garmin.com. The 4.7-inch model costs £429.99, and the 6-inch model costs £519.99 with a handlebar mount kit. Testing will confirm how it performs on longer rides and track settings.
My two cents…
Garmin’s new Zumo XT3 just dropped, basically the XT2 but with more toys for riders who like a little data with their dust. Comes in two sizes: 4.7‑inch for minimalists and 6‑inch for guys who mount laptops on their handlebars. Bright screens. Tough as your dad’s old Nokia. Survives rain, heat, and the occasional parking‑lot nap. Pay extra for the Performance Package and it’ll time your 0–60s, track laps, and brag about your lean angles. Because if you didn’t measure your G‑forces, did you even ride? Mapping’s built in, off-road extras cost more. From £429.99. Helmet hair not included.
