Tested in October 2025 by reviewer John Milbank, the DJI Neo 2 lands as one of the most approachable drones for riders wanting effortless travel footage. Priced from £152, it’s a pocket-sized powerhouse built for convenience.
Milbank reports that launching it from the palm of a gloved hand is almost laughably easy. The Neo 2 tracks riders with sharp precision, reacting to simple gestures like a robotic companion that just “gets it.” It flies steadily even through mild wind, though its short battery life keeps sessions brief.
The drone’s collision sensors add security, but they’re not foolproof. Milbank tested it hard, even sending it into trees and signposts. Remarkably, it survived nearly unscathed. As for image quality, it’s solid: 4K video that’s crisp enough for most users, though not quite cinema-grade.
Its sub-250g weight keeps paperwork to a minimum, letting riders focus on exploring. Gesture controls, auto-tracking, and palm launches make controllers optional for everyday flying. For anyone chasing quick, cinematic shots of the open road, Milbank concludes the Neo 2 is a brilliant pick, durable, compact, and surprisingly smart.
My two cents…
Another excellent, detailed review from John at Benetts Social.
I’m seriously looking at this drone for my upcoming travels, looks like it will be perfect.
The Neo drone is available on Amazon (UK) and Amazon (USA).
