Realrider App Speeds up Emergency Help

Realrider App Speeds Up Emergency Help For Motorcyclists

RealRider, a British-developed app, is making headlines for helping motorcyclists get faster emergency assistance after crashes.

Using built-in phone sensors, it detects impacts, triggers a short countdown, and if not cancelled, sends the rider’s data directly to ambulance dispatch systems.

Chief Operating Officer Steven Robertson says it’s the only app directly linked to emergency services, cutting out middle steps. After rigorous testing to eliminate false alarms, RealRider earned NHS approval and now works across multiple countries.

With riders statistically at high risk, the app’s goal is simple, get help on scene faster and save lives when seconds matter.

My two cents…

I see these types of apps becoming redundant in the future, especially with the advancing SOS features offered on modern smartphones.

The upside, it’s only about US$1.50 or a pound per week. A small price for peace of mind.
