Jonathon Klein’s gear goes through a war zone, and apparently, only one satellite communicator survives it.
After dunking, smashing, and running over his Garmin inReach Mini 2 for two solid years, he’s still alive to tell the tale.
The Zoleo held up fine too. The iPhone? Not so much. According to Klein, trusting your life to Apple’s fragile little hope-box in the backwoods could be a fatal mistake.
He’s shattered two iPhones just by existing. Until Apple builds an iPhone Ultra built for real abuse, best pack a tool designed for survival (Garmin InReach), not selfies.
My two cents…
No arguments from me on this one. Garmin makes great kit, and the various InReach options are worth the price tag in my opinion.
My InReach found my stolen passport. More on that at the link below.
