Galfer has unveiled their new Floatech brake disc, blending MotoGP pedigree with road-going practicality.
Borrowed from Ai Ogura’s 2024 Moto2 title-winning bike, the Floatech features a clever pin-and-washer system that allows the disc to “float” and flex more efficiently.
The design improves pad alignment, heat dissipation, and durability, while cutting noise for everyday riders. Race discs stay featherweight with CNC machining, while road versions use laser-cut parts for toughness.
According to Galfer’s Marc Esteve, it’s all about performance with comfort and longevity.
My two cents…
Amazing the level of tech that goes into what some of us would consider a simple item, like a brake disk. Plus, when you add in a little fairy dust, you can add a $ zero at the end.
