Bosch Revolutionizes Braking With Brake-By-Wire Technology

Bosch is shaking things up with its brake-by-wire technology, an electronic innovation replacing traditional hydraulics.

Already tested across 3,300 kilometers, it promises tighter integration with systems like stability control and even hints at autonomous vehicle applications.

Cool? Sure. Worry-free? Not quite.

While cars are the focus now, motorcycles pose a tougher challenge. Dirt, weather, and rough conditions could turn a wire failure into a serious hazard.

Redundancy, strict maintenance, and extensive testing are crucial before riders can trust it. Bosch’s tech has potential, but in biking’s unpredictable world, reliability remains the biggest roadblock.

My two cents…

I’m not sure I would be happy with brake-by-wire on my KTM 890. LOL!
I guess it’s like all this type of tech, if it works, it doesn’t take long to be adopted.
Look at Tesla’s steer-by-wire, it works great, proven and now other manufacturers are adopting it.
