Andre from Peak Motorcycles is fitting Mosko Moto Backcountry panniers, the 2.5 version, to his CF Moto 1000 MTX ahead of a trip to Europe. He picked the soft bags over metal boxes after years of curiosity about the brand. Since the dry bags and Ortlieb style pouches are already packed for the tour, he is only weighing the back plates and mounting hardware for now, with full weights added to the description later once everything else gets measured.
The Backcountry 25 sits on the exhaust side. It is built from Cordura, with a pull down tool flap, compression straps on the sides and bottom, and a plastic frame on the back that locks onto rack hardware bolted to the bike. Six mounting screws hold the plate in place, though Andre notes the bag arrived with a sticker telling users to check tightness with a “provided tool” that was never actually included. He just used a 5mm hex key instead.
The opposite side gets the 35 litre version. For mounting, he is using a liquid cooled rack originally designed for BMW models, which also fits the CF Moto frame.
My two cents…
Soft bags beat metal boxes, years of curiosity finally paid off. He’s only weighing plates and hardware now, since the dry bags are already stuffed.
