Cardo Adds Open Lobby Chat For Group Rides

Cardo just rolled out a feature that turns your helmet into something close to a group chat on wheels. The new update lets riders join open lobbies, meaning you don’t need a preset group to talk to people nearby. Anyone running the same system within range can hop in and start chatting, kind of like joining a public voice channel in a video game.

The idea came from watching how riders actually behave on long rides. People peel off, join up, lose signal, find new packs. Old intercom setups made that a hassle since everyone had to manually pair up first. Now the system handles it automatically, scanning for other users close by and offering a shared channel without extra steps.

Riders get to control who they let in too, so it’s not a free for all. You can mute people, leave the lobby, or drop back into private mode whenever you want.

Cardo says this fits how group rides actually happen, loose, shifting, and social. It’s a small shift in tech, but for anyone who rides in packs, it might change how conversations move down the highway.

My two cents…

Cardo turned motorcycle helmets into rolling Discord servers. New update lets strangers on the same gear join open lobbies, no pairing rituals required, because apparently even bikers hate paperwork. Riders scatter, regroup, vanish, reappear. Old intercoms demanded manual pairing like some awkward Bluetooth blind date. Now it just scans and connects. Automatic, effortless, mildly Skynet. You still control who talks. Mute, leave, go private. Freedom, chaos, boundaries, all in one helmet.
