Sena just rolled out the Prism 2, its newest action cam aimed at riders who already use the company’s helmet comms gear. It’s not trying to dethrone GoPro on raw specs. Instead, Sena leaned into what its customers actually want: a camera that talks to their existing intercom setup without a bunch of fuss.
The Prism 2 shoots 4K video and pairs with Sena’s mesh communication headsets, so riders can record footage while chatting with their group, all controlled through the same app they’re already using. That kind of integration is the whole point here.
Battery life got a bump over the original Prism, and the camera housing is more weatherproof this time around, which matters when you’re riding through rain or dust. Mounting options carried over from the first model, so anyone upgrading won’t need new hardware.
Price sits in the same range as other midtier action cams, but Sena is betting the ecosystem angle wins out. For riders already locked into Sena’s comms lineup, the Prism 2 fills a gap that GoPro and Insta360 never really addressed.
My two cents…
Sena drops the Prism 2, because apparently your helmet needed a group chat and a camcorder. It won't out spec GoPro, doesn't care to. It just talks nicely to your comms gear, like a couples therapist for gadgets. 4K video, mesh headset pairing, one app, zero fuss. Boom. Better battery, tougher shell, old mounts still fit. Basically your leather jacket, broken in, still cool. Same price as rivals, but Sena's betting loyalty beats specs. Stranger Things logic: familiar wins.
