Muc Off’s pink Nano Tech Motorcycle Cleaner has been around since day one for the brand, and it’s now everywhere from home garages to race paddocks. The MCN team uses it too.
Easy to overlook something so simple, especially with that bright colour and strong scent making it seem like a gimmick. But getting a cleaner to actually work, stay safe on every bike surface, and break down harmlessly afterward takes real formulation work.
The trick starts with pH. Nano Tech sits between 10.8 and 11.4, firmly alkaline, which lets it target organic grime like grease, oils, proteins and soot directly.
Instead of harsh chemicals, surfactants do the heavy lifting. Muc Off says these break dirt down at a molecular level, lifting it off the surface so plain water rinses it away.
The full recipe stays secret, but the brand confirms there are no acids, no CFCs, and no solvents involved. That means it’s safe for carbon fibre, anodised metal, seals, cables, brake pads and discs, whether the finish is matt or gloss.
It’s biodegradable too, so rinsing it off won’t cause problems for water systems nearby.
My two cents…
Pink, loud, kind of smells like a nightclub bathroom. Muc Off's Nano Tech Cleaner is everywhere, garages, paddocks, MCN's own workbench, because apparently it just works. Chemistry nerds, listen up. Alkaline pH around 11, surfactants doing molecular judo on grease and grime. No acids, no CFCs, no solvents. Safe on carbon fibre, brakes, whatever. Biodegradable too. Not just hype, actual science hiding behind neon packaging.
