The Hip Bag is made by Rhinowalk, based in China. They have been making bags for around 10 years. In addition to motorcycle bags, they sell all sorts of accessories for motorcycles and peddle bikes.
The Bag (model MT102) is a drop-leg pouch that straps to your thigh, keeping your essentials secure and handy. This is a much better solution than stuffing keys, wallets and bits and bob’s in your pockets.
Purchase & Shipping
I purchased the bag from Aliexpress for around £16 (US$21), receipt below.
As I’m sure plenty of you know, some of the products are decent quality and offer great value, but some stuff is just pure junk. I always find it best to go by how many units sold and then the reviews/ratings. After that, you are in the lap of the Chinese God’s 🙂
Shop around, lots of sellers on AliExpress. I purchased at the AliExpress link below.

Features & Specifications
4 zippered pockets and 10 internal compartments (14 total), so lots of spaces to hold your stuff.
Removable leg strap allows use as a waist, chest, or shoulder bag, breathable mesh back panel for comfort, reflective strips for night visibility, weather resistant design with a sealed waterproof main zipper for rainy days or carwashes 🙂
The 900D material looks pretty tough, so I’m sure the bag will last a reasonable amount of time without falling apart. The buckles, straps and zippers, all feel pretty solid.
The bag has some “Mole” style straps on the front, handy if you have anything that you want to attach.

Materials: 900D Polyester (thick, wear-resistant fabric)
Capacity & Dimensions: ~3 L; 16.5 × 10 × 31 cm (L×W×H) – about the size of a small sling bag
Weight: 325 g (0.72 lb)
Waterproof Rating: Weather resistant. Waterproof zipper.

Comfort & Fit
The bag sits on the leg nice and snug and feels very comfortable. Had no fear of it loosening up or moving around while riding. The straps are full adjustable, so will fit just about anyone. The straps are also pretty wide, so I never felt like their were cutting into me.
The back of the bag has mesh padding that is breathable, so this helps with comfort and cooling.

Soak Test
I soaked the bag with a garden hose at a reasonable pressure for about 20 seconds.
If the bag was prone to leaking, then this type of “monsoon” test in my experience would have found its weak spots.

The bag did not stay 100% dry inside the main pockets, a little water seeped in via the lower seems, but it did a pretty good job. It is good enough to give you plenty of time to put on your rain gear and cover the bag.
You can see more details of the soak test in the video at the end of the page.
Verdict
Rhinowalk don’t claim it to be the best hip bag on the market, but it does live up to the specs and sales pitch.
All in all for the price, I think it offers great value. If you are looking for a good value, everyday hip bag, this does a pretty good job and should be on your short list.
