Lidl shoppers know the chain sells more than groceries. One week it is a projector. Next week it is a hot tub. Now it is a motorcycle paddock stand for €39.99, about $45.75.
The stand comes from Lidl in house brand Ultimate Speed. It uses powder coated steel and supports up to 300 kg, or 660 lbs. That covers most bikes in home garages. It fits rear axles from 220 to 340 mm. Adjustable L shaped adapters help lift the bike with less effort.
The stand rolls on four wheels and weighs 5.2 kg, about 11.4 lbs. Specs stay basic, which fits the price. It does not work with bikes that use a conventional single sided swingarm. Riders of models like the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS need a different setup.
Motorcycle gear from discount chains can raise questions. A paddock stand carries less risk than a helmet. At this price, many riders may see it as a smart garage tool.
The catch is location. The stand is not listed in the United States. Riders there can only watch for now.
My two cents…
Lidl shoppers already know the aisle of randomness is the real main event. One week it is a projector, next week a hot tub, and now, sure, a motorcycle paddock stand for 39.99 euros. Costco wishes it had this kind of chaotic confidence. Only catch: not in the United States. Cue sad guitar riff.
