Sena Launches Outlander Helmet With Built In Comms

Sena has launched the Outlander, an ADV and dual sport helmet with built in communication and lighting. The brand wants to end the hassle of installing external comm units with wires, speakers, and adhesive pads.

The Outlander comes with Mesh Intercom 3.0. It delivers clear group chat within a 1.2 mile range. Riders can switch to Wave Intercom, which uses cellular data to stay connected over longer distances. A new glove friendly joystick replaces the old three button layout and makes switching modes simple.

Audio comes from Harman Kardon speakers and a tuned microphone. Sena adds AI based noise control to keep calls and music clear at highway speeds and on dirt.

The shell uses high strength materials and a multi layered impact absorbing structure. Inside, riders get a semi oval fit with quick drying fabric. The shield is Pinlock ready. Riders can remove it without tools and keep the peak in place for goggle use.

The helmet also includes a chin mounted headlight and a brake activated rear light. The headlight shuts off after ten minutes to save battery.

The Outlander sells for 599 dollars and is available now in sizes Small through XX Large.

My two cents…

Sena just dropped the Outlander, an ADV and dual sport helmet with the comms baked in. No more sticking plastic widgets to the side like it is 2007 and you are hacking a Walkman. Wires, glue pads, mystery speakers buried in the liner? Gone. About time. You get Mesh Intercom 3.0 with a 1.2 mile range, or Wave Intercom over cellular when your riding buddy vanishes into the horizon. There is a glove friendly joystick now, because nobody loved the old three button fumble. Harman Kardon audio and AI noise control keep things clear at highway speeds and in the dirt.It has a tough shell, semi oval fit, quick dry liner, Pinlock ready shield, plus a chin headlight and brake light. Six hundred bucks. Sizes Small through XX Large. Darth Vader would approve.
