Outback Motortek released a GPS mount bracket made for the BMW R 12 G/S. It fits the OEM standard front fairing and installs with basic tools. Video and installation details below.
First, remove the windscreen using a 4 mm Allen key. Keep the bolts for reuse.
Second, locate the upper fairing frame behind the windscreen. Align the GPS mount bracket with the existing bolt holes.
Third, secure the bracket using the original hardware. Tighten the bolts evenly. Do not overtighten to avoid stress on the frame.
Fourth, reinstall the windscreen. Check that the bracket clears the screen and that there is no interference when turning the handlebars.
Finally, mount the GPS or phone cradle onto the bracket. Use the mounting hardware included with the cradle.
The bracket sits centered above the dashboard. It keeps the device in the rider’s line of sight. The fixed position prevents vibration and improves visibility.

Outback Motortek make some nice kit and this bracket is no exception.
Designed it for riders who want quick access to navigation without blocking the gauges. The installation takes about ten minutes. Boom!
